Compliance Manager with Pharmaceuticals experienceThe Manager,
Compliance is a member of Merz's Legal and Compliance team and is
responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of Merz's
Comprehensive Compliance Program. This role is responsible for
supporting the development, implementation, and management of the
Company's ethics and compliance program in conjunction with the
Executive Director of Compliance. The Compliance Manager
collaborates with internal colleagues and external counsel and
vendors to ensure that the company's activities are in compliance
with all applicable laws and regulations.Essential Duties and
responsibilities1. Privacy Program Management
- Drive the on-going buildout of a strategic and consistent
privacy program for the North American organization by assisting in
the development, maintenance, and monitoring of policies,
procedures, and processes and effective privacy practices to
minimize risk and ensure the protection of personal data.
- Manage the daily operations of the Company's privacy program,
support monitoring, records of processing activities, privacy
impact assessments, and assist with the investigation and tracking
of personal data incidents and breaches.
- Develop organizational privacy policies, standards, and
guidelines, where determined to be lacking.
- Responsible for awareness and training for certain operational
elements of the Company's privacy program.
- Drive oversight and operation of privacy risk assessment
process2. Compliance Program Oversight
- Provide primary compliance support for the Canadian
market.
- Monitor laws and regulations regarding Canadian and US federal
and state healthcare compliance requirements.
- Periodically assess internal and external programs and
platforms to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerabilities
and risk.
- Assist in the development and execution of a risk-based
auditing and monitoring program, including collecting, reviewing,
and analyzing relevant data to ensure compliance with applicable
policies.
- Liaise with Manager and Global Compliance team on compliance
initiative to support the company's global compliance
initiatives.
- Conduct compliance investigations, as needed.
- Assist with management, review and assessment of exhibit and
sponsorships requests/activities.
- Assist with managing timely and accurate drug price
transparency reporting.3. Department Administration and
Collaboration
- Assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as required
by business and Department needs.
- Maintain a high sense of ethics, integrity, and teamwork.
- Instrumental in developing and managing relationships with
stakeholders at all levels of the business and playing a lead role
in embedding a good compliance culture.Job Related
Qualifications/skills:Education (required)
- Bachelors DegreeProfessional Experience (required)
- Minimum of 7 years experience, some of which should ideally be
healthcare/compliance experience in Life Sciences field, or
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Knowledge of Privacy Laws, PhRMA Code, FDA, and OIG standards
governing the sales and marketing of pharmaceuticals
- Knowledge and experience in producing transparency reports and
working with aggregate spend data reporting systems

- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication
skills
- Ability to understand complex regulations and apply that
understanding to healthcare organizations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to
deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Strong track record of working in a collaborative environment
with demonstrated evidence of maintaining relationships and
partnerships with peers and business partners
- Uses high level of confidentiality in work and uses high level
of discretion
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the
ability to communicate complex concepts to all organizational
