Accentuate Staffing is seeking an experienced HR Director for a general contractor in Dunn, NC. This role will manage HR operations across multiple companies, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance with employment laws. The HR Director will oversee recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, and payroll while fostering a positive employee experience. They will lead an HR team, engage with employees and senior leadership, and establish effective HR processes in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the HR team, ensuring performance standards, professional development, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Develop and oversee recruiting strategies for exempt and non-exempt positions, partnering with operations managers for job postings, interviews, and hiring.
Manage onboarding, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HRIS data integrity, ensuring compliance with policies and legal regulations.
Serve as the primary HR contact for employees, resolving conflicts, advising on policies, and guiding performance management and coaching.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, overseeing HR documentation, workplace safety, investigations, and union-related benefits administration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
10+ years of HR experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
Expertise in recruitment, employee relations, payroll/benefits, and compliance.
Preferred: HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
Experience with collective bargaining agreements and union environments is a plus.
Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and HRIS (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, ADP Run).
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
High ethical standards, discretion with sensitive information, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to align HR strategies with organizational goals and collaborate across teams.
