The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor & Delivery provides
comprehensive care for obstetric patients during their hospital
stay. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and
evaluating patient care while ensuring effective communication with

an emphasis on delivering compassionate care to mothers and their
newborns.

Position Summary:
Provides direct and indirect patient care to the OB patient
utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning,
implementation, and evaluation. Meets the physical, psychosocial,
religious/cultural and needs of the patient and family.
Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team
as appropriate about changes in the patient's condition or response
to treatment. Able to be flexible, organized and function in
stressful situations.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education:
Associate degree is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred
Required License:
Registered Nurse in North Carolina is required (or compact
state)
Required Certification:
BLS certification required
Additional certifications as required by department
Other:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in labor and delivery preferred
