Description The VP, Medical Director is a senior leader and
integral member of our medical affairs and publications team,
responsible for the strategic oversight of medical affairs and
publication activities across multiple therapeutic areas-including
infectious diseases, vaccines, oncology, and hematology. This
individual will lead the development and implementation of medical
strategy, scientific communications, and publication planning,
while also providing operational guidance and tactical
execution.This is a highly dynamic and creative role requiring
proven experience in managing multiple projects, cross-functional
teams, and client relationships in a fast-paced environment.About

Responsibilities(May include, but are not limited to, the
following):
Lead medical affairs initiatives
including development of communication plans, scientific
narratives, and field medical tools.Oversee publication strategy
and execution of publication plans.Collaborate with
cross-functional client teams, healthcare professionals, and
internal Cadent teams (creative, editorial, scientific).Drive the
development of innovative scientific content in partnership with
digital and creative teams.Establish and implement best practices
and standardized processes for publication planning and medical
communications.Ensure adherence to ethical standards and industry
guidelines (e.g., GPP3, ICMJE, EFPIA, Sunshine Act).Maintain
scientific integrity, quality, and accuracy across all
deliverables.Supervise the development of high-quality scientific
materials, including:Literature reviews and gap
analysesManuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, and other
materials (aligned with reporting guidelines such as CONSORT,
PRISMA, etc.)Mentor and train medical writers; oversee their
contributions to client deliverables.Manage publication project
timelines, scopes, and stakeholder communications.Facilitate author
meetings and guide collaboration across all teams.Support new
business efforts and contribute to proposals and
pitches.Qualifications
5-7+ years of experience in medical
communications and publications (minimum 5 years
required).Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication
skills.Proven ability to develop strategic, scientifically sound
content and provide oversight to ensure quality.Experience training
and mentoring medical writers in good publication practices.Strong
project management skills with the ability to prioritize and
delegate effectively.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced,
deadline-driven, team-oriented environment as well as
independently.Strategic thinker with the ability to evaluate
resource needs and execute accordingly.Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with publication
management tools (e.g., Datavision, EndNote).Experience in team
building and staff development.Willingness to travel as needed for
pitches, conferences, and client engagements (travel The annual
base salary for this position ranges from $165,000 to $180,000. The
base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the
Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary
based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications,
skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition,
some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus
